Gardner Leader Vacation Scheme

A student on a vacation placement will be able to use the experience to assess whether they wish to pursue a career in law and to gain an insight into what it is like to work at GL.

It is important that placement students get an overview of the firm as a whole and are able to spend some time within each team.

We offer six students one week placements.  The placements take place during the spring and summer.  During the placement week we endeavour to give students the opportunity of performing practical tasks such as research, drafting letters, attending client meetings and attending court with a solicitor.

The vacation scheme is open to both law and non-law students who have or expect to obtain a minimum 2.1 degree. The vacation placement scheme is applicable only for second or final year law students, final year non-law students and postgraduates.

On the application form the name, address, contact telephone numbers mobile and home, schools attended and university must be shown. Please also detail your educational qualifications, relevant work experience/employment to date and references. Please also provide an accompanying covering letter.

In your application please describe in not more than 200 words your reasons for applying to GL for a vacation placement.

Furthermore please describe in not more than 200 words what qualities you regard as essential for a competent solicitor, and evidence of your applying these skills.

Applications can be made between 1st January - 28th February each year.

Current Positions

We currently have a position for a Paralegal . The position is open to law graduates, or students who have passed their GDL or LPC. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication, research & IT skills. Please apply by sending a CV & letter to Collette Bailey HR Partner.
