Pre-Nuptial Agreements
A Pre-Nuptial Agreement is an agreement that is entered into before marriage which sets out the parties’ agreed view as to division of assets in the unhappy event of separation or divorce. Although in England and Wales Pre-Nuptial Agreements are not legally binding upon the Court, they can be a persuasive factor which the Court can take into account. Thus Pre-Nuptial Agreements can be helpful and it may be something that you would wish to discuss with us. To have any effect they must be entered into at least 21 days before the marriage.
