Gardner Leader Secures Damages for Cyclist Hit by Car
Gardner Leader Solicitors has recently secured damages for a cyclist who was left with a seriously broken leg after being hit by a car on the roundabout at the A34 junction with Monk’s Lane.
In April 2003, Mr Robert Pawson of Newbury was cycling to his local supermarket to complete his weekly shop. During the journey, through no fault of his own, Mr Pawson was involved in a collision with a car and left seriously injured. In the months that followed, Mr Pawson endured huge amounts of pain as he underwent lengthy hospital treatments and a bone graft operation to repair his broken leg. His injuries meant that he was dependent upon friends and family and could not work for a considerable amount of time.
Mr Pawson instructed local solicitors to act on his behalf but was soon disappointed in the service he received. It was at this point that Mr Pawson contacted Gardner Leader, who had in the past acted as his parents’ solicitors. Gardner Leader’s Litigation Team Leader, Alastair Goggins, fought Mr Pawson’s case and as a result has now secured the damages his client deserves.
Commenting on the incident and his subsequent claim, Mr Pawson said: “I am so pleased with this outcome, Gardner Leader has been brilliant throughout my dealings with them, always really helpful. I am grateful for Gardner Leader’s help and really don’t have a bad word to say about the firm.”
Gardner Leader’s Alastair Goggins commented: “Winning Robert’s case was important to him and so of course, it was extremely important to us. The team at Gardner Leader is really pleased that we have managed to secure damages for Mr Pawson and really made a difference.”
