Safeguarding reputations by expert legal counsel
Advisers to individuals and businesses on matters of reputation protection, we recognise that in a world of 24 hour social media it is crucial to act quickly and proactively to mitigate damage caused by harmful publications and broadcasts.
Mitigation
Where possible, we act to prevent defamatory material appearing in the first place but where the damage is already done we are experienced in bringing High Court claims in defamation and malicious falsehood. We also act where there has been a breach of our clients’ right to privacy and have brought claims on behalf of various well-known individuals who have found themselves the victims of ‘phone hacking’ by tabloid newspapers.
Our Dispute Resolution team has also acted in disputes between media rights partners in the context of high-profile sporting events.
