13-07-2020

Andrew Shipp qualified as a Legal Executive in 2007 and then re-qualified as a solicitor in 2014. Andrew specialises in complicated commercial disputes and acts for a range of clients from large corporations to sole traders. Andrew also undertakes a wide range of property litigation work.

We asked one our newest Partners Andrew a series of questions to get to know him better –

What has been your career highlight?

My first reported case back in 2016. I felt like a real litigator!

Do you have any advice for people wanting to build their career in Law and potentially work towards Partnership?

Be yourself; take on board advice given to you; try to find something that makes you stand out from others and excel at it; don’t be afraid to speak your mind.

How has Gardner Leader helped you in your career development?

I started at Gardner Leader in 1999 helping out with archives and covering reception. I was lucky enough to be offered the chance to train to become a Legal Executive, then subsequently, to qualify further as a solicitor. Gardner Leader has supported me all the way with my studies and my career. To now be made a partner is the icing on the cake for me.

What makes Gardner Leader special to you?

The people who work at Gardner Leader are fantastic. There are few, if any, egos and we all get on so well, which makes it such an enjoyable place to work.

If you could do anything other than being a Lawyer, what would you be and why?

I’m good with stats and numbers, so something relating to that.

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?

I learned how to do a Rubik’s cube during lockdown.

Do you have a favourite quote you stand by?

Treat others the way you want to be treated.
