Job Support Scheme


When the Furlough scheme closes on 31 October 2020, the Government announced yesterday that it will be replaced by a Job Support Scheme, which will commence on 1 November 2020. This will be available for six months.

This new scheme will enable employees to still receive 77% of their normal pay (where they have not reached the cap), with one third of hours not worked paid by the Government and the employer contributing one third. It will be available to employees who are working at least 33% of their normal hours, but employers will not be able to issue notice of redundancy while claiming payments through the scheme. Employers using the scheme will still be able to apply for the Job Retention Bonus, subject to meeting the eligibility requirements.
