Lesley Popplewell – Skydive Q&A

13-03-2020

Lesley is a member of our finance team and is one of the eight to put herself forward to skydive for our charity of the year Pancreatic Cancer UK on Saturday 16 May. Click here to donate.

We sat down with Lesley and asked a series of questions to get to know her more –

What made you put yourself forward to take part in the Skydive?

I have always pushed myself with my limits and I like to do things which are out of my comfort zone. To be able to do this whilst also raising funds for such a great charity was a no brainer.

Do you have a favourite quote you stand by?

Live everyday like it’s your last. Life can be short for some people and we never know when our day will come but I want to be able to say that I have done everything in life that I wanted. My life is very busy and always full of different activity. Anything from reading a book, to travelling the world, to jumping out of planes.

Who would you most like to step into the shoes of for a day?

Dr Noel Fitzpatrick. No matter how many times I watch super vet it always amazes me how much knowledge on animal and animal surgery this one man has. As an animal lover myself it is incredible how much love and devotion he has for each and every one of his fluffy patients. To be able to give animals another chance of life when other vets may of had to put them down, then I really do think that it would be self-rewarding.

If you could pick up a skill in an instant what would it be?

To be able to paint or draw. As silly as it sounds I have not got an artistic side at all. I think it would be relaxing to be able to sit in a quiet room with a blank canvas and finish a few hours later with something beautiful.

What do you like about working for Gardner Leader?

From day one Gardner Leader has always had a family like feel to it and no matter what department you work in it always feels like everyone is part of one big team.
