Richard Mead – Partner Q&A


Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1987, Richard has specialised in estate planning work. He advises clients on how to protect their wealth and also guides them on the most appropriate methods of transferring that wealth, both during lifetime and on death.

We asked one of our newest Partners Richard a series of questions to get to know him better-

What made you study Law?

I was always interested in law because it affects all aspects of people’s lives.

What has been your career highlight?

I can’t identify a particular career highlight, however I’m always pleased when clients tell me that I’ve helped them understand a particular legal issue for the first time.

How has Gardner Leader helped you in your career development?

I was with my previous firm for many years; moving to Gardner Leader has challenged me to consider my previous working practices and find ways to improve them!

What makes Gardner Leader special to you?

Gardner Leader is a forward thinking and ambitious firm, however the firm retains a genuine interest in the local communities where the offices are located.

Do you have a favourite quote you stand by?

The person who never made a mistake never made anything.

If you could do anything other than being a Lawyer, what would you be and why?

I’ve always been fascinated by the weather so would like to be a meteorologist.

What is a random fact about yourself?

I used to be a very good juggler (no requests for demonstrations please!)
