Ms Sheyi Lawale joins the firm as Senior Associate in the conveyancing team and Lewis Harvey has joined as a corporate and commercial Solicitor, bringing the total number of new hires this year to 19.
Sheyi, who is based at the Thatcham office, has a wealth of experience from working both in private practice in the City and in- house for a global energy supplier in the Middle East.
A highly accomplished legal specialist, she is accustomed to dealing with a varied caseload, including high value property sales or purchases to dealing with first time buyers with the aid of a help to buy loan, alongside the transfer of matrimonial homes.
She acts on behalf of institutional lenders, and regional and nationwide property investors with the acquisition, financing and management of property residential portfolios and purchasing houses of multiple occupation, alongside lease extensions, solving property boundary issues, and auction sales and purchases.
Sheyi, who is a Member of the Law Society and Women in the Law, also specialises in risk & compliance, managing multi-jurisdictional legal disputes and conducting negotiations.
Lewis, who joins the firm’s expanding Maidenhead team, trained at a top London law firm and qualified as a corporate solicitor in September 2019. He subsequently spent one year at an Oxford solicitor’s in the corporate team before joining Gardner Leader.
He has experience in working on a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and commercial contracts and is a member of the Junior Lawyers Division – Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
