Newbury Solicitors, Gardner Leader, team up with West Berkshire Council and Dementia Friendly West Berkshire for World Alzheimer’s Day.
Organised by West Berkshire Council, the team came together to provide an immersive training experience to their care teams, coinciding on World Alzheimer’s Day itself. Dementia Friendly West Berkshire were also available to offer more information about services that they run across West Berkshire that may be beneficial for their residents and were able to answer some more complex questions about dementia.
Victoria Rowland, Dementia Coordinator for Age UK said, “The event for World Alzheimer’s Day in West Berkshire was hugely successful. All WBC staff found the immersive experience of the training so beneficial. They all came out with a new perspective on what could be like to live with dementia and some also some helpful information to help them in their roles.”
Hannah Wallbridge, Associate in the Inheritance Protection Team at Gardner Leader said, “The training provided vital insight into what it is like for those living with dementia.”
Gardner Leader attended all day to provide refreshments to the attendees and offered assistance with any legal queries they had.
“It was a fantastic event to be a part of and help to raise awareness of issues facing those living with dementia and how we may be able to better help clients affected in the future” Hannah said.
