Lama Chami is an Associate in our Real Estate team.
Lama’s experience has been growing extensively since 2012. She deals with a broad range of work, such as sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold premises, including ground rent acquisitions.
She also has a variety of experience in real estate investment transactions, varying from assisting on corporate takeovers as well as acting for both landlords and tenants in different areas of commercial property work.
After qualifying with a City firm, Lama worked at a leading national firm before joining Gardner Leader in January 2023.
Commercial Property
Her specialist knowledge is in advising on complex and high value acquisitions, deal structuring as well as due diligence and compliance issues, particularly related to purchasing freehold and leasehold acquisitions. She also has extensive experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating documentation related to leases, sales, and purchases of retail properties including lease agreements, assignments, surrenders and licences to alter.
Working alongside property investment funds, large institutional landlords and retail tenants, her focus is on providing the best service to her clients by understanding the clients’ needs. Regardless of whether the client is an institutional corporate client or a small local business/individual, she tailors her advice and personal approach to accommodate the task at hand. Due to her diverse background, she is able to offer both a professional and a human touch to the transaction.
Work Highlights
- Negotiating and agreeing a commercial lease for an architect company owned by a husband and wife within 6 weeks of instructions;
- Acquiring the leasehold interest of 276 apartments at a prime location in Bristol under a tight timescale ensuring that all property due diligence was carried out to the client’s satisfaction as well as facilitating and managing the fire safety snagging issues between the client and the seller;
- Assisting partners on high-net value corporate transactions involving the sale and purchase of a charity with a turnover time of 30 days.
- Acquiring a freehold building for a client who lived and operated her business from the premises within a timescale of less than 6 weeks.
