This week we celebrate 25 years since Greg Humphreys joined Gardner Leader.
We sat down with Greg to ask him a number of questions from why he chose to begin his legal journey at Gardner Leader to finding out how he has seen the legal profession change since then.
What made you choose to work at Gardner Leader?
Funnily enough the then managing partner, Derek Child, offered me a job and Charles Lucas and Marshall were too slow to respond to my CV.
Tell us about your legal journey and lessons you have learnt along the way?
Working in law can be stressful. However, there are inevitably solutions to be found to problems and working with a great team and being supported by those around you makes that process a lot easier. It is amazing how sharing a problem lightens the load.
As you reflect on your 25 years at GL how have you seen the legal profession change and what aspects have you found the most fascinating and inspiring?
The biggest change is the speed at which things happen now days. That includes the work that we are doing and the changes that are occurring to the way we work. Naturally AI is a whole new challenge!
There are now many more options for young people to get into a career in the Law.
If you could step into the shoes of another GL member who would it be and why?
Our Dispute Resolution Partner Michelle Di Gioia, this is because of the calmness that she brings to every situation.
What is your favourite part of working at GL?
Working in a fantastic work environment with great people and also having a chance to have some fun.
