Working together as one team, enjoying what we do, and supporting one another to deliver peace of mind for clients.
We believe that providing access to a supportive and accessible network is a great way to support the wellbeing of our colleagues. We know that people’s wellbeing can fluctuate – sometimes feeling on top of the world, other times people can feel overwhelmed by something small. We appreciate that both internal and external factors, as well as life experience can influence our health and wellbeing and we are committed to providing a supportive work environment for all.
There are a range of ways people can choose to get involved and connected with people across the firm, from events and activities run by the Wellbeing or Social Committees, or by taking part in the wide range of competitions organised in ‘GLX teams’. Competitions vary to ensure as wide a range of people can take part over the year and to date we’ve had baking, gardening/growing and photography themes as well as rounders matches, quizzes and treasure hunts. Colleagues tell us that these are an excellent way to get to know people from all roles across GL and provide a network of people to turn to in both work and personal context.
In addition, we recognise that from time-to-time people need additional support and a confidential person with whom to share their worries. To provide that support, we have a number of MHFA trained Mental Health First Aiders, some of whom have additional relevant experience and expertise. These individuals provide the opportunity for confidential conversations about anything that is having an impact on our colleagues and life at the firm. Our Mental Health First Aiders will support and signpost where appropriate to third party organisations relevant to particular needs.
We love what we do.
