Daniel Smith is a Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team.
Daniel’s primary focus is on land and property disputes, although he also deals with contract, debt and consumer rights issues.
Daniel has a broad experience with land and property litigation such as boundary disputes and disputes relating to rights of way, rights of light, including prescriptive rights, and the obstruction of such rights. He has also worked on trespasser possession claims, nuisance, adverse possession, waterway disputes, planning applications and objections. Daniel also deals with issues relating to registered titles including restrictions and restrictive covenants.
He also deals with commercial and residential leases and landlord and tenant disputes. He has experience with lease interpretation, repair and maintenance covenants, service charge disputes, breach of leasehold covenants, service of notices and possession claims.
Daniel joined Gardner Leader in September 2015 and qualified as a solicitor in the property litigation team in January 2020, having spent time as a paralegal and trainee solicitor in the residential conveyancing and commercial property teams.
