Charlotte qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and recently joined Gardner Leader as a Senior Associate specialising in Wills, Inheritance Tax planning, Powers of Attorney, Estates and Trust administration.
Charlotte is based in our Thatcham office working closely with the team to provide accessible legal advice and services to our clients. Charlotte focuses on providing advice in a friendly and clear way to ensure that her clients do not feel overwhelmed or confused by the process they are undertaking, often at a time of personal stress and grief.
Charlotte has undertaken Dementia Friends training and understands the importance of supporting those living with Dementia and their families.
Work Highlights:
- Administering complex, high net worth Estates with overseas elements.
- Advising Executors of an Estate with several charitable beneficiaries to ensure that charities were not affected by inheritance tax payable on the families’ share of the Estate.
- Working with clients to prepare Wills which maximise their tax-free allowances on death while ensuring that complex family relationships are protected.
- Advising Attorneys on their role and responsibilities when representing their loved one under a Power of Attorney.
- Supporting Trustees in administering a Trust for minor beneficiaries from commencement and throughout the life of the Trust.
- Presenting at charity events to highlight the impact that charitable gifts in Wills can have for charities and the Estate itself.
