Harriet is an Associate in our Dispute Resolution Team, specialising in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution, including international arbitration.
Harriet graduated from the University of Bristol with a 2.1 in LLB Law and qualified as a solicitor in August 2023.
Dispute Resolution
Harriet has worked on a wide range of commercial disputes including civil fraud, breach of contract, negligence, shareholder/partnership disputes, breach of duties under the Companies Act 2006, defamation and data privacy claims. Harriet often works on complex disputes with an international element.
Harriet has experience litigating in the King’s Bench and Chancery Divisions of the High Court, including working on large scale disclosure exercises and all aspects of preparation for trial. Harriet is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration (ICC and GAFTA) and mediation.
Work Highlights
- Acted for the claimant in an ICC arbitration against a global hotel management chain to bring claims for breach of contract and/or fiduciary duties and negligence under an international management agreement.
- Assisted in acting for multiple parties in a partnership dispute, alleging the misappropriation of partnership assets.
- Worked to successfully defend various challenges to arbitration awards in the English Commercial Court, under sections 68 and 69 of the Arbitration Act 1996.
- Representing the defendant in a €100 million derivative claim, alleging a fraudulent conspiracy by the majority shareholders to divest the Claimant of its assets.
- Acting to defend a multi-jurisdiction fraud claim, valued at over $1 billion, concerning alleged money laundering in the diamond and jewellery industry.
