We regularly act in disputes relating to horseracing matters involving the sport’s major players including in connection with media rights agreements, regulatory and licensing issues, disputed bloodstock and where the ownership of high value racehorses is disputed. We also act in matters concerning disputes over high-value bets on horseracing.
A landmark victory: The Frederik Tylicki case
We also act in high value personal injury claims in sports. Our lawyers acted for Frederik Tylicki in his high-profile successful High Court claim against a fellow jockey for an in-race incident which left Freddy with career-ending and life-changing injuries.
This was an extremely rare example of a claimant sportsperson successfully establishing a duty of care owed by a fellow competitor.
