Lauren is often instructed in a range of complex matters, including will challenges, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, contentious Court of Protection matters, executor and trustee disputes, estate administration disputes, proprietary estoppel and elder and financial abuse matters. Clients appreciate Lauren’s ability to navigate the most sensitive family dynamics and circumstances, whilst finding practical and considered solutions to secure the best possible outcome.
Alongside her work, Lauren is a member of the Contentious Trusts Association (ConTrA) and is a LexisNexis Private Client expert, publishing various articles on recent case law.
Work Highlights
- Representing an executor in a dispute with their fellow executor which had left the estate at a standstill for over a year, and achieving a successful outcome whereby the estate administration recommenced, and the beneficiary received their inheritance at long last.
- Acting on behalf of a beneficiary of an estate who had been denied their rightful inheritance and securing payment within a few weeks, leading to further instructions by other neglected beneficiaries.
- Being involved in the case of Tucker v Felton-Page [2025] EWHC 530 (Ch) challenging the validity of a later will.
- Acting for family members in a Court of Protection dispute pertaining to an elderly parent’s care.
- Representing concerned family members against a negligent care home and securing a positive outcome.
- Preparing proceedings to issue a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 at very short notice for a spouse who had not been properly catered for.
- Acting for parties seeking the removal of an executor and the return of misappropriated estate monies.
- Successfully securing the return of a burial plot on behalf of a grief-stricken spouse and thus allowing the family to obtain a headstone for the deceased.
