We are delighted to have assisted BCRM on its sale to FutureLife Group. Corporate Partner James Thorpe led the Gardner Leader team which included Gail Vallis, Peter James, Vicky Schollar, Rabika Basran, Karron Whitter and Eugenia Stemitsiotis.
BCRM is a well-established and internationally recognised fertility centre which provides fertility diagnostics and services such as IVF. This recognition not only stems from their focus on high-quality, patient centred care but also on their involvement in innovative research.
BCRM’s roots can be traced back to 1983 when it was set up as a joint research project between the University of Bristol and Southmead Hospital. BCRM later expanded and was taken over by North Bristol NHS Trust in 2008 and was combined with the Southmead Fertility Clinic. Since becoming an independent clinic in 2018, Fertility Bristol Limited has continued to expand and innovate and BCRM now operates from a state-of-the art facility in Bristol’s Aztec West.
In addition to the base in Bristol, BCRM has established a network of partner clinics across Swindon, Oxford, Jersey, Cardiff and Bristol Spire.
Paul Wilson, Scientific Director, and Dr Valentine Akande, Medical Director commented, “We are incredibly grateful to James and the entire team at Gardner Leader for their exceptional guidance and support throughout this process. Their expertise, attention to detail, and dedication were instrumental in completing the transaction smoothly and to a very tight deadline. Having worked with James since BCRM became independent in 2018, it has been a pleasure to work with the Gardner Leader team for this significant milestone in our journey.”
James Thorpe, Corporate Partner added “Having worked with Valentine and Paul upon BCRM becoming independent in 2018, it has been a privilege to now help them see BCRM join the FutureLife Group and benefit from access to further resources and membership of a leading international network”.
Corporate finance advice was provided to the shareholders by Grant Thornton, led by director Nick Jones, supported by Anna Davies.
